Mental health means not only related to the mental state of our mind, but also includes the physical state. If there is an imbalance in the mental health it will drag a person into a mire of poignancy (state of depression/wild sad ). When it is in the initial stage, the victim may or may not notice the change. It is like a slow poison that spreads out with an epidemic outburst.
If you want to know how a mentally imbalanced state turns a person life into a pitiable one, this is the best example.

Influence of the incidents in the childhood and adolescence stage, the situations which forcibly changed the lifestyle, some haunting memories, all these are the reasons to create a room of a big question mark in brain.
The entire mechanism of our nervous system is to transmit and transmit. If there occurs a sudden and unexpected change in the life, it will pressurise the transmission in such a way that the brain cannot bear it and stops functioning. It doesn't stop completely, but disables specific actions. This is what we see in a person who is suffering with a mental imbalance.

We are in the world of advanced facilities and epic proportions of treatments, but still 1 out of 4 adults and 1 out of 10 children are suffering with the mental imbalance. This is not about how much the medical community developed, it's about how much did it contributed in securing the normal state.

This must be changed, the Superstitious beliefs and lack of awareness on the mental health, there occurs the misleading of the society. Forcing them to accept that this is a curse and can't be changed.

All this is rapid spreading and we need to take action, WHO took the task and it started the awareness campaign. World Mental Health Day (WMHD) in the month of October on 10th.

Moreover, this is not only a single day program, but all the week from Oct 5 - Oct 11 is called as Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW). Here this also encompasses with the WMHD.

If we observe around us, we will come across many people who are laying on the sides of roads and are mentally disabled people. We may have no time to stop and care for them, if we think, why are they there?  Hard to find an answer. There are lot of reasons for that person's footpath life. He/she may be an orphan or maybe came out from the house with all willingness to live there. Maybe due to lack of care.
Coming back to our base, this mental illness is caused by many reasons. Since they are many, I don't want to bring them here and mess. Whatever the reason might be for the illness, the treatment is one.

Keeping aside the reason for the cause, it's the time to see for a solution. It is not prevented in the past, now let's kill it in the present.

Because of the studies done by many researchers and doctors. We cannot help ourselves in this situation if we are a victim. But, there is a huge chance of saving the other. All we have to do is to notice their behaviour.
This is not possible in case of strangers, we cannot know their mindset. But, those who are close to us, we can observe them.

Following are some of the major symptoms exposed by the persons who are near to the state of mental imbalance...

  • Feeling insecure most of the time.
  • Begging for privacy when there is no need for it.
  • Depressed and keenly thinking about something most of the time.
  • Limiting themselves in case of socialisation.
  • Inferiority complex in extent.
  • Devaluing themselves and giving up on easy things.
  • Saying always 'lonely' while talking and feeling they are the only one to fight against their problems.
  • Avoiding congregation of loved ones.
  • Increase in the sensitive nature.
  • Lacking Patience etc.

All the above qualities are seen in a person who is close to a huge disappointment. I was in that state too, and I wrote the above points with an experience in my real life.

Now what? We have seen someone who is close to us with at least three points above positive in them. What should we do now? It is the time to take an action.

How to handle a depressed person without hurting.
I mentioned without hurting because that's what they feel like when we breach their privacy. Here, we need to act very wisely. We have to do two important things at a time. They are....

Persons with this kind of struggle they wish to be in places where others couldn't reach them. If we leave them like that, it will lead to a serious problem. If we keep on pinging them and trying to stick with them, this hurts them more.
Then, what we can do? Here it is, make sure to keep them always under your observation without letting them to know that you are spying. Make them completely trust you by providing them privacy when they demand for. No arguments, no stress. Just leave them immediately, but don't leave them completely.

If they say 'just leave me alone' word more and more times, do as they say. And also be ready with your blueprint of the planB, that is not leaving them. Implement it with support of your dear ones. Slowly and slowly break their mind into portion of various thoughts and make it clear to them that there also exists a life beyond tribulations. Once if you succeed in doing so, you are on the right track. Half of the treatment is done by you and the rest is taken care by the experts.

Mental illness was never a curse before and will not be in the future. It is only a disability caused by varieties of situations and genetic problems.

Do not avoid persons who are suffering with such problem. If they are in front of your eyes, don't just let them die. Because the next step for the people of mental imbalance is committing a suicide.



Let them live their lives with dignity. Mental health is everyone's right. It is equally measured in you & me and all the people in the world. If someone is behind you in their mental status, try to make them walk with you. Bring them to the level where they can feel confident about themselves. To save a life is a divinity.

I took an oath on that day when I was lifted up by my family, that I will never let a person who is closer to me to suffer with the same thing. I failed in keeping my oath, because it is a blindside for me. When I realised what was happening then the damage has already been done. But, I never regret on taking the oath, I maybe failed once, humanity in me is still alive..
This isn't just about a person or two. This is about everyone. We all need to work together to bring the awareness among the blind regions, where they drown lives with superstitions. We need to learn how to help our neighborhood in time of need.

We do not know which person is going to help us in time of our need and which one is going to betray us. So, why miss this opportunity to work for a good cause.

Mental health can be attained by love and support. These are of free and limitless. Let's bring our hands together and check the evil, which is leaving many among us in the darkness.

Never ignore if someone seeks your help. We can know the severity of the problem, don't get trapped by those who act. Not all the people are actors and cheaters. Find the one who is in need of you. Take hand in hand and save him/her.
